Good Light Group:
Starting from Europe and setting sail in Asia

Led lights.jpg

When we spend over 90% of our time indoors every day, have we ever stopped to think: Is the light environment we are in really suitable for human health and rhythm?

A global initiative starting from the science of light

The Good Light Group (GLG) is a global non-profit organization registered in the Netherlands and was established in 2019. It is committed to promoting the concept of "Good Light" - not just the lighting needed for vision, but a light environment that supports the body's circadian rhythm, sleep quality, emotional stability and overall health.

🌍 our mission:

Popular science promotion: Make the public aware of the potential risks to health posed by "insufficient light" and "physiological darkness".

• Research and Practice connection: Bridging scientists, designers and the industry, promoting the application of the latest research results.

• Healthy Building Promotion: Encourage the government and industry to incorporate "Good light" design into interior Spaces, from schools to offices, hospitals to home Spaces.

• Global Collaboration: Bringing together scientists, designers, manufacturers and policymakers from around the world to jointly create a future of healthy light.

💡 Why do we need "healthy light"?

Humans have evolved for tens of thousands of years under natural light outdoors, but since the Industrial Revolution, modern people have spent more and more time indoors - in an environment where the light intensity is far lower than that of natural daylight and the spectral composition is unnatural.

🌗 Indoors, we live in the "visible light", but often overlook the "invisible darkness" - the darkness in the biological rhythm.

This kind of light environment may affect sleep, mood, concentration, and even physical functions and disease risks.
